There are certain things you do as you get older that would horrify your 22-year-old self. You start checking parking before agreeing to attend things. You're overwhelmingly excited by set times that promise they'll wrap up by 7:30pm (in bed by 8:30? ...whyyesplease). You become disproportionately pleased when an event has adequate seating. And... you arrive early.

In 2021, I travelled up to Toronto to document what felt, at the time, like a genuinely significant cultural moment: one of the first major music festivals to return after the long silence of COVID. I went with a camera, a notebook and the vague sense that live music itself had changed simply because we had been forced to live without it for so long.
